Goal: Design a scenario that allows students to actively apply classroom concepts and demonstrate the real-world relevance of the material. The scenario provides a practical, engaging context for learners to practice decision-making and problem-solving based on what they have learned.
Rationale: To reinforce students’ learning of bad news delivery, an interactive scenario was designed to leverage situated learning, placing learners in a realistic context that mirrors real-world challenges. The scenario promotes active learning by engaging learners in decision-making tasks that require them to apply class concepts directly. Low-stakes practice allows experimentation without pressure, while embedded formative feedback guides learners toward more effective communication strategies. This approach not only strengthens skill transfer but also clearly demonstrates the practical relevance of the material.
Consideration: Due to limitations of the H5P platform, creating individual endings based on point scores was not feasible. As a solution, I designed a single image displaying the score ranges alongside their corresponding endings, which is presented on the score screen. While this approach is less elegant than fully automated branching, it is functional and effectively communicates outcomes to learners.

Development Process:
Identify Core Concepts – Determine the essential elements of bad news delivery that learners must understand, focusing on areas where prior experience shows students commonly struggle.
Initial Drafting – Create the first version of content using AI tools to streamline drafting and idea generation.
Revision and Narrative Development – Refine the content, add depth, and structure it into a coherent narrative that guides learners through the concepts.
Feedback Integration – Gather input from peers, learners, and AI to improve clarity, relevance, and engagement.
Finalization and Delivery – Polish content for delivery, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes and instructional strategies.
